Why Mustard Oil Is Caution for Dogs

Mustard Oil is a pungent cooking oil pressed from mustard seeds, widely used in North and East Indian cooking.

Mustard oil contains allyl isothiocyanate, the compound responsible for its sharp smell and taste, which can irritate a dog's mouth, throat and stomach lining. It's also high in erucic acid, which in large sustained amounts has been linked to health concerns in some animal studies.
