Why Litti Chokha Is Caution for Dogs
Litti Chokha is a Bihari dish of baked wheat balls stuffed with roasted sattu, served with chokha, a mashed mix of roasted eggplant, potato and tomato seasoned with mustard oil, garlic and onion.
Both halves of this dish carry concerns: the sattu filling inside the litti is usually mixed with onion, garlic, ajwain and chilli, while the chokha (mashed roasted vegetables) is dressed with raw mustard oil, garlic, and onion, none of this is appropriate for a dog even though the underlying vegetables would otherwise be fine.
