Our Mission
dogeats.in exists to give Indian pet parents accurate, vet-reviewed, India-specific guidance on what their dogs can eat. Every editorial decision we make is guided by one standard: would a VCI-registered veterinarian stand behind this advice?
Who Writes Our Content
Articles are written by the dogeats.in editorial team — experienced pet content writers with backgrounds in veterinary science, animal nutrition, and Indian pet-keeping culture. Writers research each food using the primary sources listed below before drafting.
No article is published before passing through our veterinary review stage.
Veterinary Review Process
Every food guide and breed guide on dogeats.in is reviewed by Dr. Ananya Sharma, BVSc & AH, before publication. Dr. Sharma is registered with the Veterinary Council of India (VCI) and has practised small animal veterinary medicine in India for over eight years.
Dr. Sharma's review covers:
- Safety rating accuracy (SAFE / CAUTION / TOXIC)
- Portion size appropriateness for Indian breed sizes
- Medical warning completeness — particularly for toxic foods
- Accuracy of breed-specific health notes
- India-specific context: seasonal storage, kitchen preparation risks, and local breed sensitivities

We rely on the following authoritative sources for all nutritional and safety data:

- ASPCA Animal Poison Control Centre — the definitive US source for animal toxicity data
- American Kennel Club (AKC) — breed-specific health and nutrition guidance
